Single Visit Crowns
At the practice of Dazzling Smiles, Atlanta, GA area patients are able to now enjoy the benefits of single visit dental crowns. Dental crowns typically require more than one appointment at the dental office. In a traditional dental setting, patients will first be evaluated to determine if a dental crown is necessary for their smile. If so, the next step is preparation of the tooth. This requires the removal of a substantial portion of enamel around the tooth to ensure the new restoration does not add too much bulk and appear unnatural. Next, impressions are made and these molds are sent off to a dental ceramist who fabricates the new dental crown. This process requires a few weeks’ time to complete. During this processing time, patients will be fitted with a temporary crown and be asked to return later for the final bonding of their new crown in place.
Instead of utilizing several appointments to complete the process of obtaining a dental crown, the CEREC technology available at Dazzling Smiles allow patients the opportunity to save time, money, and anxiety in the dental chair. CEREC technology uses CAD/CAM digital services to mill out a restoration from porcelain right in the dental office-providing restorations within minutes instead of weeks!
Patients in the Atlanta, GA area are excited to find that restorations; such as dental crowns, can be made quickly and easily right in the dental practice with a short wait. Changes can be made immediately and the dentist can ensure a proper fit before the patient even leaves the dental office. The elimination of the temporary restoration also saves patients money. Dental crowns fabricated from CEREC machinery is precise and strong; lasting just as long as more traditional dental crowns made from a ceramist and they look just as natural! Dr. Michaela McKenzie believes that everything performed within the smile should be done with aesthetics in mind and wants patients to feel confident with their smile even when restorations have been placed.
